Day 1
Welcome: Rooftop Rhythms & Bites

Arrival & Accommodation Check-in: Upon arrival you will be met by an airport representative who will guide you to your driver. Your private transportation will be waiting for you upon arrival. Retrieve your bags and proceed outside to meet your driver.

Private Sunset Rooftop Welcome: Welcome to Havana! Kick-off your cultural immersion on a private terrace with fresh-made mojitos and live local musicians playing Cuban classics.

Dinner: You will be dining at Paladar Los Mercaderes, an authentic Cuban spot serving great local dishes in a refined dining room.

Day 2
Markets, Mojitos & More

Exploring Local Markets (Lunch Included): Learn about the current landscape of food in Cuba from local experts who operate Jíbaro, a small paladar (private restaurant) in the San Isidro neighborhood. Visit a local produce market to source the key elements for a traditional Cuban meal, and return to the restaurant for a cocktail making experience and lunch.

Vintage Convertible Tour: Enjoy a tour of the city in an open top vintage car taking in all the main sites including the Havana Almendares forest, Cristobal Colon Cemetery and Hotel National.

Dinner: Grados, an old-school paladar where the owner is also the chef and the house is yours to roam (including the kitchen!) Chat with Raul as he cooks for you while you enjoy a drink or a tune played by his family.

El Divino Drag Show: Enjoy a dazzling show, featuring glamorous costumes, impressive choreography, and iconic lip-syncs that celebrate Cuban and international pop culture.

Day 3
Farm Flavors & Rum

Proyecto Bacoretto Sustainable Farm Tour (Lunch Included): Spend your morning visiting Gabo’s family farm, an organic farm just 20 minutes away from the city. They make all sorts of products from coconuts, including flour, candles, oil and more. Enjoy a traditional Cuban meal prepared by Gabo’s mother, who will gather fresh ingredients and herbs to use from the farm. ​

Mi Compañía Dance Performance: A contemporary dance company founded and directed by choreographer Susana Pous. Known for its poetic, emotionally charged performances, the company fuses modern dance with Cuban cultural expression to explore themes of identity, memory, and belonging.

Rum Tasting Experience: A local expert retired from one of Cuba’s top rum brands will lead you in a rum tasting to explain the history and culture of Cuba’s iconic drink.

Dinner: Otramanera, one of Havana’s greatest fine dining options. A Spanish restaurant with innovative fusion dishes and a lovely modern setting surrounded by a lush garden.

Day 4
Cooking, Beach & Rooftop Dinner

Cuban Cooking Lesson (Lunch Included): Learn how to prepare a classic Cuban meal with chef La Lorena, the host of a cooking tv show in Cuba. She will teach you how to create some of the best typical dishes.

Cultural Beach Excursion: Visit a Caribbean paradise at Havana’s nearby LGBTQ+ friendly beach, Mi Cayito.

Dinner: Yarini. One of Old Havana’s trendiest spots, dine under the stars at this beautiful rooftop restaurant known for craft cocktails and the local artists and musicians that frequently stop by.

Day 5
Viñales Views & Cigars

Depart for Viñales: Located three hours from Havana, Viñales is a beautifully quaint Cuban town nestled among soaring limestone cliffs and tobacco farms. These limestone mogotes, combined with Viñales’ vibrantly colored casas in shades of orange, green, pink, yellow, blue, red have earned the Valley of Viñales a World Heritage designation.

Lunch on the Farm (Included): Enjoy an authentic and traditional Cuban pork roast prepared by the family of Andy, your local Viñales expert. Embrace Cuban tradition and get to know real Cuban life through authentic conversations.

Tobacco Country: Explore tobacco country like a Cuban farmer! Stop at a working tobacco farm run by a lovely multi-generational family. Learn the special technique and secret family recipe for rolling cigars with a twist. We’ll continue into the lush Viñales Valley to our special viewing point, one of the most tranquil places on the planet.

Dinner: Vistamar. A beautiful seaside paladar with views of the ocean and great seafood selections.

Havana Foodie Fun

Havana Food Adventure: A guided exploration of the food scene in Havana’s bustling Vedado district. Discover the city’s hidden gems and taste the many flavors on offer including traditional snacks, expertly mixed cocktails, and mouth watering Cuban dishes that blend African, Spanish, and Caribbean influences.

Hotel Nacional: Built in 1930 to resemble the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, the art deco–neoclassical Hotel Nacional is one of Havana’s architectural symbols. Enjoy a cocktail on the terrace and make sure to swing by their souvenir shop!

Local Shopping: Support Havana’s thriving community of private entrepreneurs, visit shops like Dador, Clandestina and an artisan craft market.

Dinner: Cocinero, a unique rooftop restaurant located in the remodeled tower of an old oil factory.

Private Tour and Night Out at La Fábrica (Included): Enjoy a private tour of Fábrica de Arte Cubano, a must-see Cuban art installation and center of Havana nightlife! Enjoy a classic mojito as you explore three floors of art galleries, live music, DJs and more.

How do I get flights to Cuba?

Commercial flights are the most common method of transportation for traveling from the United States to Havana. Almost all major airlines offer nonstop flights to Cuba, including American, Delta, United and Southwest Airlines. You may book your flight to Cuba directly with your preferred airline, just as you would to any other destination in the world.

When booking your flight, you’ll be asked to select a purpose for travel. The preferred license for our travelers is the “Support for the Cuban People” license.

How do I obtain the Cuban visa?

The visa for this package is included in the price of the tour. Upon sign-up, our team will contact you to gather information needed to process visas.

Is travel to Cuba still legal?

Yes! Travel to Cuba is still legal under the “Support for the Cuban People” travel authorization. We take care of required documents including the visa.

What type of transportation is included?

We provide all transportation from the moment you land until the moment you leave (airport pick-ups, drop-offs and all excursion transfers included) in an air-conditioned private car, van or similar vehicle with a professional driver. 

How will I exchange currency in Cuba?

It’s no longer necessary to exchange USD into the local currency (Cuban Pesos). USD circulate as an accepted currency and in many cases are preferred by Cubans.

Note that Cuba is cash-only, so you will not be able to use a debit or credit card or an ATM. It is important to bring a sufficient amount of cash with you to cover the duration of your trip.

Will I have WIFI in Cuba?

Yes, but we recommend that travelers expect to be disconnected from WIFI during their trip and embrace the digital detox! WIFI in Cuba has improved dramatically and is available at your accommodation, Claxon Hotel.

Your guide will also have a local phone which can act as a hotspot if needed. 

Is travel to Cuba safe?

Yes. Cuba is one of the safest countries in the world to visit and has a stellar track record of safeguarding tourists. It has always welcomed and embraced American travelers with open arms.

What is Cuba Candela’s cancellation policy?

If you cancel your trip anytime up until 30 days prior to departure, you will receive a full credit for the amount already paid to use Cuba Candela’s services in the future. Within 30 days of the trip start date, no credit is provided. 

A deposit of 35% of the tour price is required to reserve your spot. The final payment of 65% of the tour price is due 30 days prior to the trip start date. (Payments are not refundable.)

If the tour is canceled due to changes in U.S. policy rules for travel to Cuba, Cuba Candela will provide a full refund.
